2023 TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS DEBATE COMPETITION
The art of debate was on full display at the tertiary institution's debate competition held last week.
Students across tertiary institutions participated in the event, which showcased their rhetorical prowess and critical thinking skills.
The competition, which was hosted by the Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta also had a lot of dignitaries in attendance.
The Keynote speaker, Mr.Wahab Oseni, Branch Controller, Central Bank of Nigeria, Hassan Gbemisola the Executive Director of Fatgbems Group, Mr. Adebayo Adelakun the managing director of Enercomtech Ltd and Mr.Adeitan Ambimbola Moses the founder of Logikeep Africa.
The quality of the debate was exceptional with students presenting well-researched and cogently argued positions. The judges, themselves experts in the field of debate, had a difficult time selecting winners, as each team performed admirably.
Amongst the four schools that participated in the debate, one standout performance came from the team representing Moshood Abiola Polytechnic which was awarded a cash prize of 50,000 nairas.
The event was a great opportunity to hone their debate skills and engage in constructive dialogue with their peers.
The event was a testament to the power of debate to challenge assumptions, broaden perspectives and promote critical thinking.
